Kitchen Remodel Pictures - Before and After #3

Written by Dianne Aucello | Jan 28, 2012 4:30:00 AM

This empty nester from West Roxbury MA had a dated kitchen, with built in place cabinets, in desperate need of a remodel.

Circa 1950's, these cabinets were painted white, over and over again.   A wall oven was no longer needed, holidays were at her adult children's homes, complete with grandkids.  Does the pink laminate counter top bring back any memories?

Included on the Wish List:

  • pantry cabinet for additional storage
  • new, energy efficient stainless appliances
  • ease of an under mount sink with strainer accessory
  • cabinets with soft close drawer glides
  • project to be done on a modest budget

The walls were kept in place,  and existing floor was maintained.  The remodel schedule was as follows:

-January 3rd - cabinets were removed

-January 4th - cabinet delivery and installation

- January 5th - granite template

- January 17th - granite installation

- January 20th -  backsplash, under cabinet lights and downlights were completed.

The cabinets were maintenance free thermofoil from Armstrong Cabinets.  Plywood construction with soft close drawers add to the longevity of this new kitchen.  Verde Ventura granite matched the existing floor the best.

With an eased edge and no backsplash, this countertop choice remained in budget.  What upgrades would you require for your space?  Let Edesia help you design your new kitchen - on time and on budget.  Schedule a consultation today!
