The answer in most cases is yes. Fiber cement siding does cost more than vinyl siding, but there are great benefits to choosing fiber cement siding over vinyl siding. The first element to consider is the color of your house. Vinyl siding cannot be painted. If you choose vinyl siding, you are choosing the color your house will be for decades. Fiber cement siding, on the other hand, can be painted. It therefore leaves you with the flexibility to choose a new color for your home whenever you are ready for a new change. Unlike vinyl siding, fiber cement siding will not warp or buckle over time nor will it dent. It is also very effective in keeping out bugs and animals.
