The luxury retreat of your dreams can easily be within your reach with just a little strategic planning.

Warm It Up

One of the newest trends in bathroom remodels is radiant floor heating.  You can get out of the shower and have warmth beneath your toes for the ultimate feeling of luxury.  Beneath porcelain or stone tile, the surprising warmth is both soothing and welcoming.

These systems are either electric or water-based systems that provide both consistent and efficient warmth.  And don't forget to install heated towel racks.  You will feel like you are in your favorite spa when you wrap yourself in a warm fluffy towel.

Turn It Up

Surround sound in your shower or a water-resistant television can pump you up at the beginning of the day or wind you down at the end.  You can get the latest news or hear your favorite playlist all while doing double duty in the shower or tub.

If you love a relaxing soak in the tub, consider installing speakers on both ends of the room for your favorite soothing tunes.  These entertainment systems come in assorted colors, have fog-proof screens and waterproof remotes.   These are available for any budget, so you can customize the features that you want.

Turn It On

Spiff up the shower with a frameless glass door.  These doors have the benefit of no step or lip to step over to enter the shower.  They also make the room look expansive.

Add multiple shower heads for the ultimate in showering.  Rainfall showers, either mounted from the wall or the ceiling can range from 6 to 12 inches in size and have numerous sprays to choose from.

You can also choose hand-held showerheads, high-pressure heads, or dual showerheads.  For an ultimate shower experience, you may opt for shower panels that offer choices in temperature control, water direction, LED screens, and more.

Soak It Up

Tubs have changed over the years and the newest upgrade in bathtubs is the sleek, free-standing tub.  These tubs are the ultimate in luxury, are generous and deep, and provide you with a spa-like experience.

They come in several sizes, are easy to install and allow you to become creative with your space by not limiting you to one area only to place a tub.  They are easy to integrate into any home decor style as well and there is a wide variety of beautiful hardware that will pair nicely with a free-standing tub.

Light It Up

Any small space looks larger with it is light and bright.  That's why we love skylights in the bathroom.  Before making the decision for a skylight, discuss with your designer or contractor to make sure that your bathroom can accommodate one.

No worries if you can't have a skylight installed.  Opt for a chandelier! Add a bit of glamour to your bathroom with lots of sparkle from a chandelier or other ceiling fixtures.

Lighting strategically placed around the mirror is a must for your beauty routine as well.  A window in the shower is a great way to brighten up the space and give your bath a natural feel as well.

Cover It Up

However you decide to remodel and style your bathroom, storage cannot be overlooked.   Recessed medicine cabinets that double as stylish mirrors,  over the door shelving, or shelves hung inside cabinet doors, will keep your bathroom uncluttered and still provide you a place for storage.   Use baskets and other containers to keep your supplies at hand and eliminate messiness.
